This is the entry road to the old Botany Bay plantation on Edisto Island in South Carolina. The dense canopy of live oak trees prevents much of the sunlight from reaching the floor of the forest.
I took this photograph near our home after a light snow fall.
After spending a relaxing day in Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello on the Italian coast we stopped to enjoy this view of the southern Italian coast on our way back to the hotel in Sorrento. I liked how the late afternoon sun was filtering through the warm salty air.
