Side Pike in the Afternoon

One of the great things about the Lake District is the fact they name all the hills, or "fells" there. This view is taken on the shoulder of Lingmoor Fell looking towards Side Pike in shadow with Langdale Pikes accentuated in side light with the mighty Bow Fell in the distance. The central region of the Lake District seems to have much more tightly packed fells that tend to have steeper peaks with a more rocky terrain. I chose this spot as I wanted to capture the characteristic dry stacked stone walls that are common to the landscape in the Lake District. If you look closely you can see a few sheep grazing in the field. I was able to enjoy a quiet and peaceful several minutes sitting at this spot after I had run up the hill from the car. After I was done, I had to hurry back to the waiting car so we would not miss our dinner reservations in town. Two exposures, tripod, using Fuji X-E2s with Fujinon XF 10-24 f/4 R OIS lens.
